Google and Fiber? can they mesh?
Well here we go another product that Google wants to introduce to the world. Can Google develop and stable fiber network for regular people like us to use. I say that it will take a very very long time for any of this to happen, after reading the article over at Foxnews I noticed that Google is looking to buying the so called “dark fiber” that not being used, but who knows the government can be using that, and making headway into a acquisition of the fiber that’s there will only cost money that Google probably does not have or will have in the future.
Here are some of the problems that Google will run into, I know many companies are already laying the groundwork for fiber to the home such as Verizon and I think that Verizon as well as many other companies will not let this happen. Google may be well suited and have the money for it, but there are many more problems than companies that already have fiber to the home. You have to look as zoning laws, city laws, city taxes heck there maybe a list of things that Google will have to look into before even breaking ground on such a task.
Google might have the right intentions but as far as I can see Google is already behind the times, with Verizon making headway in many major cities there is no way that they will be able to get into certain markets.
So that leaves what? smaller communities, rural communities, who would want to have fiber to the home if you live by a lake? Does Google have the money to go over mountains? I guess we will have to see…
