Teen, Mom Fight off Home Invaders
DALLAS – A mother and her teenaged son were the victims of five masked home invaders who kicked in their door and ransacked their home for money, police said.
The terrifying attack happened just before 3 a.m. in the 3100 block of Lanoue Drive, near Bachman Lake in Northwest Dallas.
The woman was sleeping in the home with her 18-year-old son when the men broke in the back door and screamed at the victims for money.
The teen was pistol-whipped, beaten and kicked in the head when he tried to resist
His mother managed to slip out of the home and run to a nearby fitness center to call 9-1-1.
When police arrived, the suspects were gone, and the teen was left behind. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but is expected to recover.
Police are still looking for the suspects.
