Gunman Shoots at Dallas Police Officer
DALLAS – Dallas police scoured a northeast neighborhood early Tuesday morning looking for a man who fired at a patrolling officer.
At about 3:30 a.m. the officer says he spotted a man wearing a black hoodie walking in the 8400 block of Walnut Hill Lane with his hands in the hoodie’s pouch.
When the officer pulled alongside him and tried to talk to the man, he didn’t answer.
The officer pulled over, got out of his squad car, and tried again to make contact with the man.
In response, the officer says the man pulled a gun out of his pocket and fired it at the officer. The bullet missed the officer and hit the squad car’s rear driver’s side window, shattering it.
The suspect ran off through a creek bed, and although the officer called for help from K9 trackers and the DPD helicopter, police weren’t able to find him.
Police are still investigating this attack.
