ARLINGTON – Police are investigating the mysterious shooting of an Arlington teenager overnight, and now someone is behind bars.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Red Coat Ln, southwest of Arlington Municipal Airport shortly after midnight Wednesday morning.

There they found a girl in her late teens shot in the base of her skull. She was rushed to the closest hospital in stable condition.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

However, Arlington jail records show someone named Al Jamar Howery was booked into jail just before 7:00 this morning on charges of abandoning a child and aggravated assault/family violence with a deadly weapon.

Police still haven’t described what they think happened.
