HUNTSVILLE – A doughnut shop in Huntsville isn’t as sweet as it used to be.

Police say thieves made off with more than 2 tons of powdered sugar from the Donut Wheel.

Detective Marvin Hyvl says the bagged sugar was worth about $1,400.

Police say the thieves apparently got into the doughnut shop’s storage facility via a gap where some air conditioning equipment had been.

The AC unit was stolen in July.

The sugar theft was discovered on Sunday.
