Accused of taping boy's mouth
A Riverton man has been arrested for investigation of child abuse after he allegedly duct taped the mouth of his 12-year-old stepson and then ripped off the tape so it would hurt.
Salt Lake County jail records say the boy has muscular dystrophy, is wheelchair-bound and is autistic.
Steven Kimball was booked into the jail Wednesday for investigation of child abuse resulting in two or more injuries and abuse of a disabled child.Jail records allege the 42-year-old put duct tape over the boy’s mouth on Tuesday because he wouldn’t stop talking and then ripped it off.
Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Lt. Don Hutson says the boy suffered abrasions and skin was missing from his cheeks.A call from The Associated Press to a Riverton phone listing for a Steve Kimball was not immediately returned Friday.
