Lewisville Lake toll bridge opens, but not all neighbors are happy | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Arlington News
LITTLE ELM – Dozens of drivers stopped at the barricades at Lewisville Lake on Saturday to anxiously ask when their new bridge would open.
Bettye Hope didn’t have to ask. She’d know as soon as the first cars sped past her house that afternoon, just feet from where she sat in her front yard.
The opening of the $122 million, 1.7-mile toll bridge is generating plenty of talk – as well as mixed emotions – in eastern Denton County. The bridge will shorten many commutes and potentially expand development, but it also is expected to worsen traffic on some roads and make life more difficult for homeowners closest to the bridge’s east side.
I will try the bridge out this coming when I head to school to see if it will help me with my commute, I can see it helping a little I believe but time will tell..
